Privacy Policy

1. Data we collect

• Account: email address, display name, call sign ("CB name"), phone number (optional) and profile photo (optional). If you sign in with Google, we receive your email and name from Google.
• GPS position: only during an active round you take part in. Your position is sent every 5 to 15 seconds to the round's fox, and your route history is kept with the event results (distance, duration, track on the map). You can turn position sharing off in your profile ("Hide my location"); the fox always shares their position.
• Content you post: round photos, messages sent by the fox to hunters, groups and events you create.
• Notifications: a device token (Firebase Cloud Messaging) to send you push notifications, plus your preference for event emails.
• Technical data: authentication and error logs generated by Firebase (Google). We use no advertising, no audience analytics and no ad tracking.

2. Why we use it

• To run the app: identify participants, show the live map to the fox, compute times, distances and season standings.
• To send you notifications about your groups and events (event created, round finished, new participants). You can unsubscribe from emails at any time.
• To keep the service secure and fix problems.

3. Who can see your data

• Other members of your groups see your call sign, display name and profile photo.
• During a round, the fox sees hunters' positions live. Hunters do not see the fox's position.
• Once an event is over, a public summary (reachable by link) shows participants' call signs, times, results and GPS tracks.
• Our providers: Firebase and Google Cloud (Google LLC) host the data in the United States; Google Sign-In handles Google login. We never sell or rent your data and do not share it for advertising.

4. Retention

Account data is kept as long as your account exists. Positions and GPS tracks are kept with the event history for standings and summaries. Notification tokens are replaced whenever you use a new device.

5. Your rights

You can view and correct your information in your profile. To get a copy of your data or delete your account and everything linked to it, email daniellabelle07@gmail.com. We answer within 30 days.

6. Security

Traffic to our servers is encrypted (HTTPS). Access is limited by Firebase security rules: only you can change your profile and position, and only participants of an event can take part in it.

7. Children

FoxHunt is not intended for children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data about them.

8. Changes
